CLOSURE OF THE WOMEN’S LABOR IN AGRICULTURE SUMMIT

“Women’s Labor in Agriculture Summit” organized by ARDSI and started on 6th March in Ankara has been closed.

The 3rd day of the Summit started with the session titled IPARD Programme and Women. During the session, the participants were informed about the details of the financial program and the position and activities of entrepreneur women in the context of IPARD Programme by Director-General for Financial Cooperation and Project Implementation Bülent Özcan from Ministry of Foreign Affairs Directorate for EU Affairs, CFCU Director Murat Köse and Deputy Director General of Foreign Economic Relations Ali Doğan from the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, Head of Section for Green Development and Inclusive Growth Virve Vimpari from EUD Türkiye and ARDSI Coordinator for Project Monitoring and Control Unit İlhan Demirkan.

At the Rural&Agro Tourism and Women Session, the topic was discussed by Deputy Director-General of Forestry Kenan Akduman, ARDSI Coordinator for Project Management Unit Deniz Saklavcı, Simurg Women’s Cooperatives Union Coordinator Sanem Erdil, as well as Fatma Aykılıç and Gülin Kayhan who are entrepreneur women benefitting from IPARD grants.

During the “Heirloom Seed: from Tradition to Future” session, speeches were delivered by Lecturer Berker Çiftçi from Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University, the General Director of Agricultural Research and Policies Metin Türker, the General Director of Agricultural Enterprises Hasan Gezginç, Head of Seed and Seedling Department Sezgin Karadeniz from the General Directorate of Plant Production, food entrepreneur Aslı Zuluğ who is the winner of the most innovative start-up and local seed producer Ayten Çöl.

The 4th and 5th sessions were dedicated to IPARD III Programme Presentation. ARDSI experts informed the participants about the sectors to be supported and the new sectors in the programme, responding to the questions at the end of their presentation.

ARDSI President Dr. Ahmet Antalyalı presented bouquets to women panelists and representatives of LAG associations at the stands in celebration of the 8th March, International Women’s Day.

Dr. Antalyalı visited the stands of the Ministry’s general directorates and thanked them for their contributions to the summit.

The summit ended in a photo ceremony bringing together ARDSI staff and representatives of LAG associations from several provinces across the country.
